Funeral services for Mildred Mae (Moon) Beebout, 88, of Knoxville, who died September 17, were held September 20, 1996, at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at Columbia Cemetery.

The Rev. Robert Moon officiated at the services. Music was
provided by Darlene Mooberry, organist.

Pallbearers were Jay Bates, Donald Beebout, Leo Beebout, Wayne Beebout, Robert Schultz, and David Singer. Honorary bearerswere Tim Beebout, Darrel Jensen, Jim McMichael, Greg Moon, Len Moon, Terry Moon, Denny Stotts, and Gene Stotts.

Mildred was born February 9, 1908, in Columbia, the daughter of Walter and Jesse Bingham Moon. She graduated from Knoxville High School, and taught in a one-room schoolhouse for a time.

She was united in marriage to Carl August Beebout on April 24, 1927. The couple then moved to Chicago, Ill., where Mildred worked in retail sales in department stores. They returned to Knoxville in 1992. She moved into Oakview Center in November, 1995.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Sharon, and her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Coady of Anchorage, Alaska. Memorials may be made to Columbia United Methodist Church.
