Funeral services for Merrill Stephen Wadle were held at Sacred Heart Church in Melcher with internment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Melcher.

Merrill was born November 6, 1947 at Collins Memorial Hospital in Knoxville, the son of Matthias Joseph Wadle (1910-1990),
and Blanche Elisabeth Wachter (1909-1977).

He grew up on two farms on the Crooked Road southwest of Knoxville. He attended K-5 at Pleasant Ridge Country School and attended school in Knoxville, graduating with the class of 1965.
He attended the University of Iowa for a year, He served honorably in the U. S. Army with overseas service in Germany.

He was last employed with Meredith Publishing Corporation in Des Moines. Merrill was just 26 years old when he died, on December 23, 1973.

Merrill is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his two sons; Stephen and David, his parents, five sisters; Mrs. Robert (Eunice) DeLong of Swartz Creek, Mich., Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Reeves of Knoxville, Mary Wadle of New Orleans, La, Michelle Wadle of Austin, Texas, and Mrs. James (Barbara) McGaughran of Wheaton, Md. And Five brothers; Ronald of Rockton, Ill, Melvin of Blue Springs, Mo., John of Knoxville, Maurice of Coralville, and Eldon of Virginia Beach, Va.,
