Melvin Leroy Wagner, age 69, of Knoxville, Iowa, born August 4, 1946 the twelfth of thirteen children born to Ernest Kermit and Mina Erma (Shore) Wagner.

He went to the Knoxville Schools with the class of 1965.

The military of 1966 – 1968 in Viet Nam took its toil and he was severely injured in the stomach by rocket fire.

Melvin married Thelma Rose Hout of Stewart, Iowa and they moved to Parker, Arizona, where they lived for forty years. Working construction was his livelihood and making jewelry, furniture, and dream catchers was a hobby.

Thelma Rose died May 28, 2008, and in October 2014 Melvin moved back to Knoxville, where his sister Marjorie Hester cared for him.

He passed away Saturday morning, November 21, 2015, at the Knoxville Hospital.
Melvin was preceded in death by his siblings, Earnie, Lettie (Gene) Snow, Mack, Anna (Harold) Simmons, Jim, Jessie, Joseph, and David.

He is survived by his son Michael Bruce Wagner of Phoenix Arizona and granddaughter Candice, his sisters Ramona (Eugene) Barnard, Ellen (Leonard) Schroeder, Marjorie (Howard) Hester, and Esther (Ire) Clarke. Also many other relatives and friends.

As Melvin wished, his body has been cremated and a graveside memorial service for Melvin will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at 2:00 P.M.,
at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville.
Military Honors will directly follow services.

A memorial in Melvin’s memory may be given to the family.
