Services for Mary A. (Hollingshead) Pohl, 82, Lubbock, Texas, who died on Oct. 3, 1993, at the
Methodist Hospital after a brief illness, were Oct. 6, 1993 at the Oakwood United
Methodist Church. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Park.

The Rev. E. Richard Chaffin officiated at the service. Assisting ministers at the
service were Rev. Allan Forbis, a retired Methodist minister of Lubbock, Rev. Tom
Fuller of the First United Methodist Church in Big Spring and Rev. Gene Crane, pastor
of the 10th Avenue United Methodist Church in Amarillo. Pallbearers were Roger Bennett,
Duane Cotton, Mike Cartwright, Clyde Newberry, J.V. Hollingshead and Hubert Hollingshead.

Mary was born on Oct. 31, 1910 in Knoxville.

On Dec. 13, 1942, she was married to Rev. David H. Pohl in Knoxville. She had lived
in Lubbock, Texas since 1983, coming from Ropesville, Texas.

Mary was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church, past president of the
United Methodist Women in Knoxville and was an active member of the United Methodist
Church her entire life.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 29, 1986 and one brother, G. Lee
Hollingshead on Dec. 18, 1988.

Survivors include three daughters, Rev. Martha Bennett of Center Point, Harriett
Sue Carson of San Marcos, Texas and Sara Elizabeth Simonds of Lubbock; one son,
David 0. Pohl of Abilene, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Oakwood United Methodist Church Music Scholarship Fund.

The Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas was in charge of the arrangements.
