Services for Martha (Leuty) Hardin, 88, of Pleasantville, who died June 18, 1984 at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held June 21 at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville.
Interment was in Pleasantville Cemetery.
Rev. Gary Thornton officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mildred Brooks, organist, and Joann Heaberlin, soloist.
Pallbearers were Tom Beem, Dean Sadler, Donald Williams, Wayne Gasper, Wendell Winters, and Miles Murphy.
Mrs. Hardin was born on Oct. 13, 1895 in Union Township, Marion County, the daughter of Walker S. and Lois Harkin Leuty.
She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1917 and, taught at Blaine Rural School in Marion County for two years.
On Aug. 27, 1919, she married William Wesley (Wes) Hardin.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Knoxville and transferred her membership to the Christian Church in Pleasantville at the time of her marriage.
She was a member of the KYK Club and former member of the D.A.R.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Bill; three sisters in infancy, Elizabeth, Mary, and Myrta Clare; and one granddaughter, Kathy Jo Hardin.
She is survived by one son, William Wesley, of Knoxville; one daughter; Mrs. A. R. (Ruth) Shoop, of Pleasantville; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Kilgore of Pleasantville, Mrs. G. W. (Camille) Paardekooper of Knoxville, and Mrs. Grace Schreiner of Pella; and one brother, Ely, of Orlando, Fla.
