Marta Marie (Buttrey) Morse, age 67, passed away on August 28, 2023, at Knoxville Hospital with her loving husband Randy by her side.
She was born on March 11, 1956, in Knoxville, Iowa to Donald and Pat Buttrey.
Marta graduated from Knoxville High School and went on to lead a fulfilling life enriched with various interests and passions.
Many people knew Marta from Jerry’s Pizza, which she operated for 10 years. During her time there, she forged many lifelong friendships. She had a deep love for the countryside and embraced the beauty of nature.
As a child, Marta enjoyed riding horses, which brought her great joy.
One of Marta’s greatest accomplishments was her active involvement in the Marion County Democrats. For the past eight years, she served as their treasurer. Her dedication and hard work had a significant impact on the local political landscape. Marta’s contributions will always be remembered as she played an integral role in advocating for the values, she held dear.
The loss of Marta has left a void that can never be filled. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family and friends.
Randy Morse, her beloved husband, cherished every moment that he spent with Marta. They were together for almost 38 years, marrying on August 3, 2011. They shared countless memories together and supported each other through thick and thin.
Marta is survived by her loving husband, Randy; her brother, Bill (Deb) Buttrey; niece, Erica, and great-niece, Olivia; and countless friends whom she cherished throughout the years.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate the incredible life of Marta Marie Morse will take place at Pierschbacher Funeral Home – Knoxville on September 9th, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
This will be followed by a Funeral Service starting at 4:30 PM. The address for the service is 202 E Washington St, Knoxville, IA 50138.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marta’s name can be made to the Marion County Democrats.
