Marjorie May (Swayne) Johnson, age 85, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center
She was born May 9, 1929 in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Kathryn Glover Swayne. Marjorie attended Liberty Country School and Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Iowa where she lived for 52 years.
She lived in Eldorado, Illinois for 3 years and then moved to Oak Ridge in December 1985.
Marjorie married John Roderick Johnson on January 5, 1947 in Knoxville, Iowa.
Marjorie and her husband Johnny were the owners and operators of Fairlane Bowl for almost 20 years.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with many friends and relatives. Marjorie was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Rodney Ray Johnson;
step-father, Bill Kelderman; brothers, Keith, Ted and Billy Kelderman and great-grandson, Kevin James Clark Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 67 ½ years, John R. Johnson; son, Dennis Lee Johnson and wife Dori of Oak Ridge; brother, Larry Swayne of Monroe, IA; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Clark and husband Kevin of Cedar Falls, IA, Kenny Johnson of Knoxville, IA, Tony Johnson and wife Jennifer and Jaci Jones and husband Jason, all of Oak Ridge; and 9 great grandchildren.
Graveside services at Oak Ridge Memorial Park will be private.
