Mabel B. (Powers) DEBONT, 96, of Denver, died Feb. 16, 2002. Services were held on Feb. 19 at Bullock Colonial Chapel.
She was born June 21, 1905, in Knoxville, Iowa, one of eight children born to Mary Margret Morrison and Charles Emerson Powers.
She grew up south of Knoxville in the Gosport area and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1925.
Mabel married Peter H. DeBont on June 7, 1928.
She was a housewife who enjoyed sewing, traveling and reading.
Survivors include daughter Wanda D. Taylor of Aurora; daughter Marlene J. Blair of Denver; daughter Dorothy Murray of Centennial; sister Helen Karr of Punta Gordo, Fla.; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.
