Lynn Charlotte Freeman was born December 5, 1949, in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Richard Taylor & Ellen Lavonne (Brechtel) Freeman.
She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1968 and received her BS degree in accounting from Iowa State University in 1972. she was employed by the US Army Corps of Engineers for 17 years in St. Louis and Rock Island until her retirement in 1990, due to a disability.
She was an active member of the Bettendorf Christian Church. She enjoyed listening to Christian music, singing in the church choir, and playing the piano. In recent years, Lynn derived much happiness from the friendships she developed with college students, volunteers, and the nursing staff involved in her care.
Lynn went to be with the lord on Monday, October 31, 2005, at her home in Bettendorf, Iowa, following a lengthy illness. she was 55 years of age.
Survivors include her parents, Richard and Ellen Freeman of Fairfax; three sisters: Sharon (Orlin) Schwab of Latimer, IA; Janine (Bob) Bickerman of Atlanta, GA; and Patrice (Greg) Alexander of Crystal Lake, IL; two brothers: Brian Freeman of Brooklyn Park, MN; and Kevin (Peggy) Freeman of Wichita, KS; thirteen nieces and nephews; and numerous other family and friends.
God sent Lynn to us with a mission; to bring those of us wandering in the wilderness to the fold, so that we would know God's love and accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
God knew Lynn was suffering with pain and would never get well on earth again. God called her name and she faithfully responded. He put His arms around her, lifted her to rest, and now Lynn is healed.
God has a special place in His garden for Lynn. It broke our hearts to lose her, but she didn't go alone. A part of us went with her.
We are most thankful for the time we have shared with her. So today we say goodbye, but when see Lynn again, there will be no more tears.
Burial: Murdoch-Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa
