Mrs. LuEva (Burdette) Bray, 101, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015, at Golden Living Center. Mrs. Bray was born October 13, 1913, in Mt. Morris, PA, to the late Fred and Martha Donley Burdette.

Mrs. Bray retired from teaching in Surry County and was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was also a member of PEO in Mount Airy and The Daughters of American Revolution.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Mike Hoyng; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Sybil Bray; her grandchildren, Charles Estes, Dan Estes, James B. Bray, Megan Nauman, and Jessica Bray; her great-grandchildren, Danielle Estes, Brandon Estes, Gabriel Estes, Rachel LuEva Estes, Kara Jane Nauman, Cole Nauman, and Nora Nauman; and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bray was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Bray.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Jay Meadows and Dr. Roger B. Gilbert officiating.

Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 714 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
