Gertrude Louise Work was born on Jan. 5, 1927, in Marion County to Robert Nichols and Tunnie (Onstank) Nichols.

On May 26, 1951, she married Corwin Lee " Tuffy" Work. The couple always made their
home in Knoxville. Louise worked at the Knoxville Reminder for many years and Tuffy drove a semi.

Louise was also a talented knitter. She had made many sweaters for her family and
was quite adept at incorporating intricate details in the sweaters.

Louise was very active in the Knoxville Area Community Hospital Auxiliary for many
years. She and Tuffy always enjoyed boating and socializing with friends and family.
Although she never had any children, Louise cherished her family and thought of
many as her own children.

Louise passed away on April 29, 2007, at the Knoxville Hospital at the age of 80.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one brother, three
sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on May 2 at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home with Elder
Bill McDonald officiating. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
