Born December 12, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri to Virgil and Edith (Turner) Brummel. She was raised in Knoxville, graduating from Knoxville High School in 1968. While in school she enjoyed participating in band and played the clarinet.
After high school she worked several jobs including Pella Corp, APAC Telecommunications, and Kum & Go; she truly enjoyed her 18 years at Wacko’s and her favorite job was operating the Brown Eyes Café at the local sale barn. She also enjoyed traveling. She moved to Moravia, IA and Arizona where she found her love for sunshine before settling back down in Knoxville.
She was passionate about helping others and feeding people. She loved helping fix breakfasts for the Kiwanis club. She was also an avid member of the NA community for the last 37 years. She loved throwing NA parties and cookouts. She enjoyed helping others learn how to have fun in a sober life.
Linda had a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile. Her laugh was contagious and would brighten everyone’s day. She would help anyone, had a heart of gold and a deep faith that showed through all of her generous actions.
Her family was her greatest love, and they will remember the wonderful meals and treats, all the laughs shared, a house full of flowers and love, and maybe a few cats here and there. Her grandchildren were the center of her world as
she always looked forward to visits and hearing all about their lives. In later years as her health declined, she made sure to stay in touch by phone, sometimes having conversations that lasted for hours.
Linda passed away surrounded by family on September 8, 2025. She will be greatly missed by her children: Chris Uitermark, Curt Anderson, Rhonda (Chris) Sinn, Aaron (Kim) Anderson, and Ashley (Josh) Swan; 17 grandchildren: Shealynn (Isaac) Adel, Taylor Thompson, Garritt Kingrey, Angel (Olivia) Miranda, Josh Miranda, Jauna (Kyle) Hopkins, Colton Hopkins, Trey Sinn, Brayden Sinn, Gavin Sinn, Edie Anderson, Daisy Anderson, Isabel Brees, Faith Brees, Kabrina Stewart, Mason Anderson, Malichi Swan, and Maverick Swan; 8 great grandchildren; siblings: Andrew (Darnel) Brummel and Donitta Jenkins-Cartwright; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
