Linda Sue Van Wyngarden September 24, 1949 — June 27, 2023, Knoxville

Linda Sue Van Wyngarden, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 27, 2023, at West Ridge Specialty Care. She was born on September 24, 1949, to Lois and Delbert Brown.

Linda had a fulfilling career that spanned different roles and industries. She was the Co-Owner of Maid-Rite and brought joy to countless customers with her warm smile and friendly service. Linda also worked at Knoxville Hospital as a receptionist and later joined Pella Hospital as a phone operator until her well-deserved retirement.

While Linda was an accomplished professional, her true passion in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She found immense joy in attending her kids’ sporting events and cheering them on from the sidelines. Family meant everything to Linda, and she cherished every moment she had with them.

In her free time, Linda enjoyed trips to the casino, especially in Las Vegas. The thrill of the games and the vibrant atmosphere brought excitement to her life. These trips created treasured memories that she often shared with those close to her.

The services to honor Linda’s life will take place at Pierschbacher Funeral Home – Knoxville on July 3, 2023. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. The funeral home is located at 202 E Washington St, Knoxville, IA 50138. Linda Brown

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her brothers Jason Brown, Jay Brown, and Delbert Lee Brown; and brother-in-law Carol “Hoss” Nearmeyer.

She will be deeply missed by her surviving family and friends. Linda leaves behind her loving daughter, Kim (Joe Bloodsworth) Van Wyngarden; devoted son, Scott (Katherine) Van Wyngarden; caring siblings, Mary Ellen (Richard) Goode, Carolyn Nearmeyer, John (Gerri) Brown, Joe (Karen) Brown, and Jody (Michelle) Brown; grandchildren, Codie (Lindsey) Sedlock, Jacob (Mikaela) Sedlock, Dustin (Bobbi) Sedlock; great-grandchildren, Arya, Brayker, Mia, Olivia, Asher, Mitchell, and Kylar. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will forever treasure the memories they shared together.
