Mrs. Lilian DeReus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Underhill, was born in Knoxville, Iowa, May 12, 1898.
she attended the Knoxville public schools, Grinnell college, and the University of Nebraska,. she is a member of the Presbyterian church, and affiliated with the P.E.O. sisterhood, and the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.

On October 14, 1924, she and Harry De Reus were united in marriage, and to this union one child, Elizabeth Ann, was born.
On the eve of the seventeenth anniversary of this marriage she passed quietly into the Great Beyond, survived by her daughter, mother and husband.

"Like the flowers, she came gay-fully into this world with the Spring.

After a beautiful summer she was blighted by the earliest frost in the Autumn of her life, and during the month she loved–October.
"by birth she received a excellent heritage; her life is useful, unobtrusive, happy and full; she is a part of those who know and love her."
