Services for Leo Perry Seaman, 77, Baton Rouge, La., who died on Dec. 3, 1993, as
a result of injuries suffered during Hurricane Andrew that struck Florida and Louisiana
in August 1992, were Dec. 7, 1993 in Louisiana. Burial was at the Resthaven Memorial
Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge, La.
The Rev. Terry Workman officiated at the service.
Pallbearers were Ocie Reynolds, Ben Powell, Robert K. Finarty, John Finarty, Roy
Kling and Gerald Higgins.
Leo was bom on March 20, 1916 in Mahaska County, the son
of Lester Perry and Ida Fisher Seaman. He moved to Knoxville on March 1, 1926 with
his family.
Leo attended school in the Knoxville School System and graduated from
Knoxville High School. He was also very active in sports and after graduation, he
built and operated bowling alleys and skating rinks in several states including
Leo's Rollerland and Airway Iceland in Baton Rouge, La.
Leo was a United States
Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Roller Skating Rink Operators
of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Azalea Reynolds Seaman of Baton Rouge, La.;
one daughter, Anne Seaman of Baton Rouge, La.; four sons, Lester W. Seaman of Burbank,
Calif., L. Perry Seaman of Baton Rouge, La., Bradley R. Seaman and Todd A. Seaman
of Walker, La.; one sister, Ruth Finarty of Knoxville; nine grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
