Services for Lena Evelyn (Parker) Wagner, 74, who died November 4, 1980 at Collins Memorial Hospital were held November 7 at First United Methodist Church, Knoxville. Williams Funeral Home was is charge of arrangements.
The interment was Graceland Cemetery.
Dr. Leonard E. Deaver officiated at the services. Music was provided by Anna Oscarson, the organist.
Pallbearers were Eddie Wagner, Tom Tucker, Dan Smith, Kenneth Wagner, Tom Cook and Steve Wenberg.
Lena Evelyn Wagner was born October 14, 1906 in La Moure, North Dakota, the daughter of Claude and Lena Stagg Owen.
Her mother died when she was born and she was cared for by the U.H. Harmon family for two and one-half years at which time she was taken into the home of Sadie and James Parker, who raised her.
She attended the Knoxville schools and graduated with the class of 1926.
She was married to Arthur Wagner on May 26, 1929 at her home. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1979.
The family lived in Knoxville following their marriage until October 1929 when they moved to Pella. They returned to Knoxville in 1933.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a life member of the United Methodist Women, Chairperson of the Commission on Worship, served on the church board and taught a Sunday School class.
She was a past president of Mentor Study Club, a member of Chapter M of the P.E.O.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur of Knoxville; one son, Ronald Arthur of
Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Norland (Rita) Hayes Knoxville and Mrs. John (Constance Louise) Walsh, Lykens, Penn.; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and two cousins, Vera Tucker and Frank Elliott Jr., both of Knoxville.
