Kevin Lee Daugherty, age 49, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Kevin was born November 14, 1963 in Knoxville, Iowa to Dwight James and Lorraine Helen (Mosman) Daugherty. He was the youngest of his family. At age of nine Kevin was diagnosed with diabetes and his father passed away that same year.

Kevin lived in Knoxville all his life. He graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1982. Kevin worked for Modern T.V. and later Video Mart with his father-in-law Carl Schwanebeck for many years before working for several years at Radio Shack with owner and good friend Jo Goff.

On June 26, 1988 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Knoxville Kevin and Caprice Andre Schwanebeck were united in marriage. Kevin and Caprice shared 25 years and three days of marriage and were blessed with three children: Madisen, Chambray and Ashton.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 25 years Caprice Daugherty and their three children: Madisen, Chambray and Ashton Daugherty all of Knoxville; Kevin’s mother, Lorraine Daugherty of Knoxville; and three brothers: Bruce, Duane and James Daugherty.

Kevin is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ruth Schwanebeck; three brother-in-laws: Curt (Karen), Cris (Patty) and Cort (Jim Wickesberg) Schwanebeck; and one sister-in-law, Colette McRoberts.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Dwight James Daugherty and his father-in-law, Carl Schwanebeck.

Kevin’s wishes were that he would donate his organs to help people in need. Because of his health issues Kevin was unable to donate his organs and he chose to donate his body to the University of Iowa for medical research.

A memorial service honoring Kevin’s life will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Knoxville on Monday July 8th at 6:00 p.m. with Kevin’s family present starting at 4:00 p.m.
