Graveside services will be held on September 30th at 10:30 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Kelli’s family would like to invite you to wear your favorite sports team attire to the graveside service.
Kelli Lynn (Haning) Reynolds was born on June 19, 1955, at the Collins Memorial Hospital, in Knoxville, Iowa. She was the oldest of three children born to Arl Gordon and Norma Jeanne (Malone) Haning.
Kelli attended Knoxville High School and graduated in 1973. In that same year, she was named the first Knoxville Nationals Queen. After graduating, Kelli attended Stephens College, in Columbia Missouri, to pursue a degree in dance.
Kelli went to work for the Veterans Administration Hospital as a materials manager after college. In 2006, she transferred to a new position within the Veteran’s Administration, she went to work for their Central Office in Chicago, Illinois.
In 2012, Kelli moved back to Knoxville where she became a full-time Nana and a part-time waitress at Mr. C’s Restaurant. She loved attending sporting events with her kids and grandkids and watching sports on TV.
Kelli was an avid Hawkeye, Chiefs, Astros, Royals, and Cyclone fan. She was able to meet one of her favorites, George Brett.
Kelli also enjoyed going out to dinner with her family and friends, going to the casino, taking care of her flowers, going on cruises, going to Colorado to visit family, and she never missed one of her grandchildren’s events.
Although she loved her Chinese Shar-Pei dogs, Kelli’s grandchildren meant the world to her.
Kelli passed away on September 14, 2022, at West Ridge Specialty Care in Knoxville at the age of 67 years, after a short battle with cancer.
Kelli and Barry Joel Reynolds were married on August 28, 1982, and she is survived by their children: Joshua Allen Reynolds and his children, Ryker and Rylee; Ashley Nicole and her husband, Ryan McCarty of Knoxville, and their children, Rylyn and Roston; her sister Angie and her husband, Dick Sage of Osceola, Iowa; her brother Gordon Haning and his wife,
Emilee of Knoxville; her half-sister Lori and her husband, David De Vries of Monroe, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, life-long best friend Lacy Larson, and longtime colleague and friend LuAnn Kettle. She was preceded in death by her parents Arl and Norma Haning.
