Everett Keith Neal was born on August 6, 1923 in Marion County, Iowa. Everett was one of five children born to Lucille Kerr and Archie Malroy Neal.
Everett graduated from Knoxville High School. Shortly after graduation Everett was inducted in the US Army and served for nearly three years with the 127th General Hospital.
He had two tours of duty overseas and received two bronze battle stars. Everett lived in Knoxville and Marion County his entire life. He worked as an X-ray technician a Collins Hospital in Knoxville as well as other hospitals in the area. During his free time he enjoyed fishing and photography.
Everett passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at this home in Knoxville at the age of 79 years. His parents preceded him
in death.
Survivors include one sister and her husband, Virginia and Marion Morris of Des Moines; three brothers and their wives, Walter and Janet Neal of Council Bluffs, Donald and Janice Neal of West Des Moines and Robert and Barbara Neal of Des Moines as well as other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, August 8, 2002 at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville with Rev. Peter J. Peterson officiating. The American Legion Post #168, Iowa National Guard Maintenance Company #3654 and Veterans of Foreign Wards post #3519 accorded military honors.
Friends called at Williams Funeral Home on Thursday prior to the service. Casket bearers were Delbert Brown, Marion Morris, Donald Neal, Robert Neal and Timothy Neal.
