Funeral services for Elwood Keith King, 84, of Springfield, Mo., who passed away
on Oct. 24, 2004 were held Oct. 28 at Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen
Bagby officiating. Interment was in the Olive Chapel Cemetery in rural Marion County.

Elwood Keith King was born on Aug. 28, 1920, in Marion County. He was one of two
children born to Beryle Brooks and Clarence Erwin King. King grew up on a farm south
of Knoxville. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1937. King and his father
were the first farmers in the area to begin contour farming.

On April 11, 1941,
King married Lucinda A James. They had eight children. After his wife's death in
1994, Keith moved to Springfield, Mo. to live with his two daughters. King was preceded
in death by his parents; his wife; one son, David Lee King; one sister, Cathryn
Woodle and one grandchild, Helen Marie.

He is survived by two daughters, Kay King
and Linda Whitt of Springfield, Mo.; five sons: Kenneth King of Eagan, Minn.; Wayne
and his wife, Sue, of Hurst, Texas; Jay and his wife, Sue, of Knoxville; Rex and
his wife, Anne, of Aurora, Ill. and Michael and his wife, Kathy, of Hutchinson,
Minn.; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the
Olive Chapel Church. Williams Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
