Karen Rae (Clarke) Perkey, age 62, passed away on Friday, December 29th,2017 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Visitation for Karen will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at the Celebrate Community Church.

A Memorial Service for Karen will be held at 11:00 A.M., with Associate Pastor Susanne Vogel and Judd Nelson officiating. Burial for Karen will be held on a later date.
Karen was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 29, 1955, the daughter of William Webb and Lola Marie (Davis) Clarke.

Karen attended Knoxville High School with the Class of 1974.

Following high school Karen worked for several years as a Home Healthcare Aid. She later worked for several years at Principal Financial Group before taking early retirement due to her health.

Karen had a love for her church and the Lord. She was a member for many years of the Celebrate Church Women’s Group. She also enjoyed warm weather and trips to the beach in Texas.

Those left to cherish Karen’s memory is her daughter, Billie Jo Tucker (fiancé Kenny) of Flagler; two step daughters, Dejah Roman and Tara Perkey of Des Moines; father, William Webb Clarke (Glenna) of Knoxville; three sisters, Rebecca Case (Kenneth Lance) of Swan, Kathy Clarke (Oscar) of Des Moines, and Dianne Ennis (Rick) of Ames.

Also left to survive Karen are her two grandchildren, Tyler Bowen of Oklahoma and Michael Alan VanWardheizen of Knoxville; and one great granddaughter, Rhea Lola Bowen; her husband, Chester B. Perkey, one niece; five nephews, and numerous family members and friends.

Karen is preceded in death by her mother, Lola Marie Clarke-Arrendell; one sister, Linda Marie Clarke; and one son in pregnancy.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family of Karen Perkey. The Winfield Funeral Home is assisting Karen’s family with services.
