Joyce Darlene (Cowman) Davis, age 61, of Knoxville, Iowa passed away Friday, September 08, 2017 at her residence in Knoxville, Iowa.

Visitation for Joyce will be held 9:00 A.M., Saturday, September 16th, 2017 at the Winfield Funeral Home with Joyce’s family present.

Joyce’s wishes were to be cremated, a Memorial Service for Joyce will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 16th, 2017 at Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville with Pastor Joe Strode officiating. Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery following the service.

Joyce was born in Knoxville, Iowa, on October 31, 1955 the daughter of Leo Cowman Sr. and Betty Quinette. Joyce lived in Knoxville throughout her life and graduated from Knoxville High School.

After high school Joyce briefly attended Indian Hills Community College. Joyce went to work for Kaiser Corporation where she worked as a lab technician and met the love of her life. On September 22, 1984, Joyce was united in marriage to Jon Davis. To this union they were blessed with three sons; Vernon, Victor, and Vincent, and one step son, Jon II.

Joyce was a devoted wife and mother, she stayed home raising the boys for most of their childhood years. When the boys were older, she began employment for Martin-Marietta Rock Quarry where she worked as a Scale House Operator at many of their quarries.
Joyce loved the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, canning, pioneer camping, and she was a primitive cook.

She had an artistic talent that started with painting in her younger years and spread to an eye for photography. Her photography ability was so unique that she had photographs that were viewed by many around the world.

Those left to cherish Joyce’s memory are her husband, Jon Davis of Knoxville; three sons, Vernon Davis of Knoxville. Vincent Davis of Knoxville, and Victor Davis of Knoxville; one step son, Jon Davis II (Patty) of Oskaloosa; and two brothers, Leo Dean (Teresa) Cowman of rural Knoxville and Tim (Paula) Cowman of Illinois.
