Services for Joseph Elliott Ruckman, 77, of Davis, Calif., who passed away Aug. 21, 1991, were held Aug. 27, at Williams Funeral Home.

Interment was in Ruckman Cemetery in Marion County. Elder Arthur Nichols officiated at the services. Music was provided by I organist Darlene Mooberry and vocalist Jim Kidder.

Pallbearers were Russell Crozier, Amos Jones, Lloyd Karr, Harry Stevenson, James Templeton and Clyde Williams.

Mr. Ruckman was born the son of Dora La Nella Bellamy and William Clyde Ruckman
on Oct. 10, 1913 in Knoxville.

He attended Red Rock grade school and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1929.
He taught school for two years at Union School.

He later attended Simpson College where he received his degree in 1938. He attended
graduate school for one year at Iowa State University and for one year at Bradley
University. All his studies were in the field of chemistry.

Mr. Ruckman was united in marriage to Dora Mae Tinder who preceded him in death.

Joe enjoyed playing ball and also many other athletic activifies. He also enjoyed
working with younger people and was a Boy Scout leader.

Joe refired from the University of California at Davis, where he was a chemist in
agronomy research. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, half-brother
and his wife.

He is survived by his niece, Wilma Williams of Woodbury, Minn.; as well as many
other relatives and friends.
