Ardith Joan (Robuck) Bousquet was born March 3, 1942. She went to be with her Lord on March 13, 2022, at the age of 80 years old.
She was the second child of 5 children, sisters Lila Jean (Butch) Smith, Ruby Ann (Larry) Dursky, Karen Lou (Alvin) Baxter, and brother Larry Eugene (Carol) Robuck.
Joan was born to Lawrence Wilson and Josephine (Espeland) Robuck from Knoxville Iowa, attending the local schools, KHS Class of 1960.
She married Joseph Reynolds Bousquet, their children are Pamela Sue (Wayne) Joynt, Sharon Raye (Doug) Luedtke, and Jacinda Lynn (Steve) Shafer.
She later married Edward Lee (Pete) Wooldridge, their sons are Rocky Lee Wooldridge and Randy Jay Wooldridge.
Joan stayed in Knoxville raising her children, she worked at 3M where she enjoyed the challenge of the job.
Joan was recruited into the Army reserves in 1974, in 1983 she transitioned to Active duty and she was stationed at Fort Des Moines for many years and spent time at numerous duty stations. Joan retired (SFC) from active duty in 2000. Giving her a total of 24 years 5 Months 13 days of service to our country.
Joan joined the Army and worked her way up to SGT. in the Medical field. She was stationed in Des Moines, Iowa for 7 years. She was transferred to Bedford, MA. a base about 5 miles from there. She was transferred to Minnesota in June 1994.
During this time of service, she met the love of her life Duane Earl Weilnau, they married on December 25th, 1994.
The Union combined Duane’s sons Eric (Stephanie) Weilnau, Mark (Christine) Weilnau, and Peter Dwayne Weilnau.
Duane and Joan made their home in Knoxville Iowa. They enjoyed traveling, eating out, and going to Staples.
Joan enjoyed her family and friends; her home was always open to people who wanted to visit, and she always had coffee ready. Joan was a good cook, always offering to feed you if you came to her house.
Joan enjoyed outings with her daughters, sisters, and Red Hat ladies which were the highlight of her days for several years Joan and Lila had the craft house on Lincoln Street. They created a place for everyone to come and created many different crafts, ceramics, oil painting, basket weaving, crochet and embroidery, and candle making. Joan was loved by many for her generosity.
She is survived by her husband Duane, 8 children, 28 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, four siblings, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to the Knoxville Church of the Nazarene or Knoxville Open Air.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with Joan’s family present to greet friends and relatives.
Service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Following services, military honors will be held at the funeral home.
Following military honors, a luncheon will take place at the Church of the Nazarene Fellowship Hall in Knoxville.
A private family burial will take place on a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa.
