Services for Joan D (Brooks) Hazelett, 54, of Washington, who passed away July 28, 1991, at
the Washington County Hospital in Washington, were held July 31 at the Eden Funeral
Home in Washington.
Interment was in the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth.
Reverend George Gibson officiated at the services. Music was provided by Katherine
Stewart. Pallbearers were John Hazelett, James Hazelett, Jeff Hazelett, Jason Hazelett
and Jeff Libe.
Joan Brooks was born June 21, 1937, in Knoxville, the daughter of
John and Maxine (Momyer) Brooks. She was educated in the Knoxville school system
and later Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., majoring in music.
On July 26, 1966,
Joan was united in marriage to Paul G. Hazelett. To this union, six children were
born. Joan served as city clerk for the city of Ainsworth for a number of years,
and enjoyed sewing and music.
Preceding her in death were her father and her grandparents.
Surviving are are her husband; two daughters, Beth Libe of Washington, and Susan
Hyde of Pierceton, Ind.; four sons, John of Ainsworth and Jeff, James and Jason,
all of Washington; eight grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Maxine Lister of Knoxville;
and one brother, Roger Brooks of Cedar Falls.
