James Alphus Williams, 67, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 7, 2017. He was born August 1, 1949, in Madisonville, KY to Billie E. and Verda (Curneal) Williams.

Jim was united in marriage to Phyllis Matney on September 6, 1969, in Knoxville, IA. He is a veteran of the United States Army. Jim worked as a Barber for several years in Knoxville, IA, and in Blue Springs, MO.

He was a member of the First Bible Baptist Church in Blue Springs, MO. Jim enjoyed fishing, running, and the Kansas City Royals. His greatest enjoyment came from spending his mornings with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his days with his beloved family.

Survivors include wife of 47 years, Phyllis Williams of Blue Springs, MO; children, Valarie Williams of Grain Valley, MO, James Williams (Elizabeth) of Papillion, NE, Michael Williams (Heidi) of Lee’s Summit, MO; brother, Christopher Williams (Vickie) of Dixon, KY; grandchildren, Katie Williams, Wesley “Dub” Williams, Emily Williams, Rachel Ballman (Eric), Jack Williams and Harry Williams.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billie E. and Verda Williams; and brother, Danny Williams.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the First Bible Baptist Church, 1441 S.E. Adams Dairy Parkway, Blue Springs, MO.James Williams

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 12, 2017, at the church. A committal service will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to FBBC to be given to Bryon and Tammy Callaway missionaries to Zambia, Africa.
