In Loving Memory of James “Jim” Mitchell Rowland, age 79 of rural Knoxville, Iowa, was born April 24, 1936 and passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at his home, with his family close by him.
Memorial services for Jim will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 21, 2015, at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville, with Pastor Joel Ruisch officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Zion Cemetery following services.
As Jim wished, his body has been cremated and visitation for Jim will begin on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at 4:00 P.M., at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville.
Jim’s family will be greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening.
Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lesta Rowland of rural Knoxville; three sons, Jeff (Shelley) Rowland of Altoona, Mark (Karen) Rowland of Harrisonville, MO, and Todd (Melinda) Rowland of rural Knoxville; 6 grandchildren, Abby (Brad) Heaberlin, Kyle Rowland, Nathan (Callie) Williams, Shelene (Toran) Billups, Ashley Rosenbough, and Parker Rowland; and 4 great-grandchildren, Cole, Emma, Drew Heaberlin, and Christopher Billups.
Jim is also survived by his brother Richard “Dick” Rowland of Knoxville and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garold and Marjorie Rowland; and three brothers, Carroll in infancy, Donald Rowland, and Gordon Rowland.
