Services for Jessie Mae (Williams) Bruce, 78, of Knoxville, who died Nov. 14, 1990 at the Griffin
Nursing Center, were held Nov. 17 at Williams Funeral Home. Interment was in Graceland
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Cameron, Jim Foster, Bill McDonald, Doug Nichols,
Jack Nichols and, Sam Nichols.

Jessie Bruce was born at Red Rock on May 17, 1912,
the daughter of Grover and Daisy Nichols Williams.

Jessie was united in marriage
to Lawrence D. Bruce at Perry on Sept. 29, 1938.

She attended elementary school
at Red Rock and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1930 with an elementary
teachers Certificate. She taught school for several years at Red Rock, Dunreath
and Bur Oak Schools. She was a good teacher because she loved children so much.
Jessie lived all her married life in Newton where she was first employed as a dental
assistant and later as a bookkeeper for Pierce Furniture Store.

She will be remembered
by her family and friends as someone who was always fun to be around but also as
always willing to help any other family member who needed any thing. She took special
interest in her niece, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as they were growing
up.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964, her parents, one brother, Clifford Williams and one nephew, Bruce
Williams.

She is survived by one brother and his wife, Clyde and Claudine Williams
of Knoxville, one niece, Ginger Ferguson of Knoxville, one nephew, Merrill Williams
of Omaha, Neb., one sister-in-law, Daisy Williams of Knoxville, four great-nieces
and nephews, Kirstin and Zachary Ferguson of Knoxville and David Williams of Lake
Wood, Calif. and Christy Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Rev. K. Wayne Hoehns officiated at the services. Music was provided by organist
Darlene Mooberry. Honorary pallbearers were James Wayne Coe and Roy Dean Coe.
