KNOXVILLE, Iowa (UP) — A coroner's jury Tuesday night cleared the driver of a car that struck and fatally injured Jerry Nemeth, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Nemeth, Knoxville.

The jury said there was no criminal negligence on the part of the driver of Attica, whose car struck the boy along Iowa 60, 2 miles southeast of here Friday.

The boy died Sunday, August 21, 1955.

The Nemeth boy and three others were hiking to a Boy Scout camp to spend the night when the accident occurred 1 1/2 miles southeast of here on highway 60.

The boy had been taking test to obtain a second class Scout badge.
The award was presented posthumously to his parents.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Methodist Church with burial in West Bend.

Graveside services were held in the West Bend cemetery Thursday afternoon for Jerry Nemeth, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Nemeth, Knoxville, Iowa.

Jerry was injured fatally when an auto struck him as he was walking along a road near Knoxville.

His body was accompanied here by the Revend and Mrs. Summerbell and son Dean, of Knoxville. Mr. Summerbell conducted the rites and six of the West Bend Boy Scouts acted as casket bearers.

Jerry’s father, George Nemeth, is a native of West, Bend.
He is now an employee at the Veterans hospital at Knoxville.
