Jerry Lee Martinache born December 26, 1940 in Knoxville, Iowa to Earl and Hilda Martinache and grew up in Knoxville, Iowa. He passed away January 20, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.

He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1959. He served in the US Army from 1960-1963, in Fukuoka, Japan. He met Julie Eckardt of Knoxville and they were married on June 14, 1963.

The couple was blessed with two children, Shawn Martinache of Union, Wa, and Stacey (Tim Kelly) of Gilbert, Az. They have two grandchildren, Grace Martinache and Zachary Kelly.

Jerry worked in electrical line construction for several years before starting with Iowa Electric Light and Power in 1972. He worked there for 26 years.

Jerry was very involved in the community. He served on the board of Perry Bible church. He coached Perry Little League, boys baseball, and girls softball. He also played slow pitch ball. He served on the Perry City Council for several years. He was a volunteer fireman, active in Jaycees, and helped with the hay lift project to South Dakota.

The couple moved to Arizona in 2001. They managed Rim Crest RV resort in the White Mountains for the past 12 years.

Jerry used to golf until he discovered his passion for tennis. He was also active in softball for years. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and generous friend.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; son, Shawn, and granddaughter Grace of Union, Wa; daughter Stacey (Tim Kelly) and grandson Zachary of Gilbert, Az; Brother Don Martinache and family; sister Joan VerSteeg and family; and other close family members.

Memorial Service to be January 28th at 7:00 pm Gateway Fellowship Church in Gilbert, Az.
