Memorial services for Dorothy Jeanne (Adams) Wilson, 80, of Jacksonville, Fla. and formerly of Knoxville, who died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at her home in Big Pine Key, Ha., were held Saturday, April 5, at Cody & Son Memorial Home.

Dorothy was born March 14, 1923, in Crookston, Minn., the daughter of Clifford B. and Algia Mae (Toom) Adams. She married Dr. Thomas L. Wilson in 1944.

Dorothy was a 1940 graduate of Knoxville High School and a 1943 graduate of the University of Maryland College of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at University Hospital in Baltimore, Md., then at Knoxville Community Hospital, and later at her husband's practice in Murrayville. She and her husband lived in Murrayville from 1947 until 1960 when they moved to Jacksonville.

She was a member of Passavant Hospital Auxiliary and Morgan-Scott Medical Society Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James Adams; and her husband, Thomas, in 2000.

She is survived by three sons, Dr. Charles S. Wilson and wife Margaret of Jacksonville, Thomas L. Jr. of Indianola, Miss., and John A. Wilson and wife Margaret of Plano; two daughters, Jennifer C. Wilson and Beth Whitacre and husband Ronald all of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Blackman of Knoxville and Margaret Mae Fillaman and husband Michael of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two brothers, Harry Don Adams and wife Carolyn of Evergreen, Colo. and William Adams and wife Ann of Knoxville.

Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, Passavant Memorial Area Hospital, Woodhaven Hospice, or the charity of the donor's choice.
