James Dwight Zoutte was born June 27, 1948 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Amos Adrian Zoutte and Amelia Rose (Vardo) Zoutte.
Jim graduated from Knoxville High School with the class of 1966. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970.

Following his honorable discharge, Jim returned to Knoxville at worked at the V.A. Medical Center until his retirement in 2004.

Jim was an avid sprint car fan and had been involved in the sport as an owner or mechanic for 30 years. He also enjoyed fishing and league bowling for many years and had attended the National Bowling Championship in the past. Jim’s greatest joy was his family; he loved spending time with his brothers and their families and especially his grandchildren.

Jim passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at the West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 65 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Amelia.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons: Marc (Tascha) Zoutte of Knoxville and Russell (April) Zoutte of Reidsville, North Carolina; grandchildren: Makenzie and Bryce Zoutte and his brothers: Adrian (Nancy) Zoutte of Chariton and John (Jan) Zoutte of Altoona and many other family members and friends.
