Memorial service for James Douglas White, 58, a former resident of Knoxville who died November 4, 1985: at Venice Hospital in Venice, Florida due to multiple myeloma, will be held Friday, November 15 at the Bybee and Davis Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m.   Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa.

Mr. White, son of the late Martha: and Harold E. White, was born March 2, 1927, in the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

He graduated from: Knoxville High School in 1945, from Drake University in 1949, and from Teachers College Columbia University in New York in 1952.

White devoted his career to teaching, writing textbooks and educational materials, educational consulting, and producing computerized instructions.

In April 1984, after living in New York for 33 years, he retired to Englewood, Florida.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Willard.

He is survived by one brother, Welton, who lives in Westminster, California.
