James (Jim) Carl Horan was born December 5, 1920, the son of Carl J. Horan and Lenett Ann Schrodt b.1896-d.1980.
On June 9, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Beth Hammond.
To this union were born four daughters, Molly Horan, Meg Horan, and Bridget Pospisal, all of Council Bluffs, and Martha Horan of Aspen, Colo.; two sons, Michael of Ottumwa, and John of Council Bluffs; and five grandchildren.
James died November 11, 1974 in Fairfield, Iowa. Memorial services were held at St. Mary’s Church in Fairfield, Iowa on Saturday, November 16, 1974
Officiating was Father Leonhart.
His body was bequeathed to University Hospital’s School of Medicine.
The Family request no flowers.
Obit states that his mother remarried George F. McIntosh of Des Moines.
Memorials have been established for Jefferson County Association for Retarded Children and The American Cancer Society.
James was preceded in death by his father Carl J. Horan in 1932 and a brother Donald Joseph Horan b. Aug 7, 1923 d. Aug 2, 1941.
