Ella “Irene” (Lankford) Davis, age 91, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at her residence.
Irene was born on November 26, 1927 in rural Pleasantville at her family home, the daughter of George and Eva (Bingaman) Lankford.
She attended school in Knoxville. Irene was united in marriage to Loren Davis on October 2, 1957. They were blessed with three children, Trudy, Doran, and Daryl.
Irene enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She worked as a Tupperware Dealer in sales and as a manager for fifteen years. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.
Irene’s wishes were to be cremated.
A private family burial will take place on a later date at Gullion Cemetery in rural Attica.
Those left to cherish Irene’s memory include her children, Trudy (Jerry) Calvert of rural Attica, Doran (Leah) Davis of Knoxville, and Daryl Davis of Rose Hill; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, George and Eva Lankford; husband, Loren Davis; brother, Roy Lankford; and sisters, Genevieve Sneller and Lena Simmons
