Funeral services for Hugh Allison Templeton, 73, of Knoxville, who died Sept. 11, 1989, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn., were held Sept. 15 at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville.

Evans McCleery Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The interment was in Ruckman Cemetery in Marion County. Rev. Raymond Moore
and Rev. Ken MacLeod officiated at the services. Music was provided by Davis Folderts,
an organist. Pallbearers were Carroll Johnson, Dr. E.V. Feldman, Donald R. Rodgers,
Lane Williams, Dean Jones, and Bill Karr.

Mr. Templeton was born on Aug. 14, 1916 in Marion County the son of Joseph and Mary Jones Templeton. He grew up in the area of Marion County near Dunreath and Red Rock. Hugh graduated from Knoxville High School and in 1934 attended Simpson College.

Mr. Templeton married Dorothy Core on Feb. 13, 1943, in Knoxville.

Hugh was engaged in livestock farming for most of his life. He farmed near Red Rock with his father and brother-in-law, Dwight Harvey.
He contributed substantial efforts to selected community activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, and one sister. He is survived by his
wife of Knoxville, two sons: Dr. Joseph of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Dr. Mark of Indianapolis,
Ind.; three daughters; Jane Gibb of Ft. Dodge Wright of Tallahassee, Fla., and
Alice Dunkin of Long Beach, Calif.; one brother:, James of Knoxville; two sisters:
Sarah Roetman of Eldora and Alice J. Huygens of Portland, Ore, and ten grandchildren.
