Services for Howard Hiram Core, who died Feb. 2, 1983 at Iowa Methodist Medical
Center in Des Moines, were held Feb. 4 at Williams Funeral Home. Interment was in
Ruckman Cemetery, Marion Co. Elder Arthur Nichols officiated at the services.

Music
was provided by Darlene Mooberry, organist. Pallbearers were Clayborn Barnett, Richard
Hindman, Virgil McDonnell, Leo Dykstra, Richard McDonnell and Phil Visser. Honorary
pallbearers were Steve Zimmerman, Russell Zimmerman, Martin Zimmerman, Andrew Zimmerman,
Eric Harsin and Terry McDonnell.

Mr. Core was born April 27, 1906 in Marion Co.,
the son of George H. and Ethel Horsman Core.

He was married to Dorothy Hanna on
Oct. 10, 1937. He was a farmer in Marion Co. all of his life, having spent the last
70 years on the same farm. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member
of the Board of Directors for the Pella Rural Electric Co. for 11 years. He was
also a member of the Union Township Board of Trustees.

He is survived by his wife,
Dorothy, of rural Knoxville; two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Betty) Zimmerman of rural
Prairie City, and Mrs. Kay (Sandra) Harsin of rural Knoxville; eight grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren;
one Sister, Ruth Stittsworth of Loveland, Col. and one brother, Grant Core of Knoxville.
