Hervey Raymond Pearson was born on May 14, 1947, in Chariton, the son of Carl and Marjorie (Daughtery) Pearson. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1966. He served with the United States Navy from 1968 – 1974. He moved back to Knoxville and went to work at the Veterans’ Hospital as a computer technician.

Raymond married Janet Rigel on Oct. 22, 1976, in Knoxville. They lived their entire married lives in the area.

Raymond retired from the V.A. Hospital in 2005 after 30 years of service. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and taught Tae Kwon Do at the Knoxville Recreation Center.

He enjoyed hunting, being a gunsmith, and working on computers.

Raymond passed away on April 6, 2009, at Pleasant Care Living Center in Pleasantville, at the age of 61.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Janet; his daughter, Pam Wares (Brian) of Earlham; his son Brian (Heather)of Groton, Conn., his sisters, Bev Robison and Noni Saylor (Jerry), both of Knoxville; his brother Ed (Roxanna) of Knoxville; four grandchildren; his in-laws, Glen and Elinor Rigel of Melcher, and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial Funeral Services were held on April 13 at Winfield-Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville, with Chaplain Robert Arnold officiating.

Military Honors were accorded by Baty Tucker Post 168, American Legion, John Myers Post 3519 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Knoxville Humane Society.
