Helen Marie (Wise) Ferguson, 90, North English, formerly of Marengo, died
Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the English Valley Care Center. Currently, no services are scheduled.
Inurnment will be at Friend’s Cemetery, Oskaloosa, at a later date. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at Kloster funeral home.
Helen Marie Doud Ferguson was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Muscatine. She worked as a dispatcher for the Oskaloosa Police Department
for five years and also worked at Schanz Furniture, Amana, as a bookkeeper.
She married Jerry Ferguson June 24, 1978, at the Christian Church, Oskaloosa.
She was a member of the Christian Church, Oskaloosa; the Royal Neighbors and the U of I Club. She enjoyed U of I sports, reading and crossword puzzles.
Ferguson is survived by several nephews and one brother-in-law, Darrell Ferguson, Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn Doud, and her second husband, Jerry Ferguson, on June 13, 2013.
Was born Helen Marie Whitaker d/o John Thomas Whitaker and Bertha Lenora Fergerson. After her parents divorced her mother married Henry Wise so that was where the name Wise came.
