Helen Lucille, daughter of Ray and Mabel Hagan, was born in Monroe, Iowa, on January 2, 1917, and died at the Collins Memorial Hospital Knoxville, on September 27, 1940, age 23 years, 8 months, and 5 days.
She married Frank Whitlatch on August 1, 1938. To this union, a son, George Edward, was born.
Her mother preceded her in death when she was only 21 months of age.
At the request of her mother, she was given a home by Mr. and Mrs. Claude Rees. In this home, she was lovingly reared.
She graduated from Knoxville high school in the class of 1934.
Besides her husband and infant son, George Edward, she leaves to mourn her departure, her father, Ray Hagan; a brother, Howard, of Monroe; an uncle, W. S. Hagan, who helped care for her in her last illness; her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Rees; a foster grandmother, Mrs. Margaret J. Rees, n foster brother, Carl Rees; one sister, Mrs. Vern Six, preceded her iii death in January 1938.
Funeral services were held in the First Methodist church Sunday, September 29, at 2:30 p. m., conducted by the Rev. T. C. Kennedy.
