Services for Hazel Maxine (Watson) Spiker, 83, Irving, Texas, who died on July 25, 1993, at her home in Irving, Texas, were July 27, 1993 in Irving, Texas and on July 29, 1993 at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton. Burial was at the Chariton Cemetery in Chariton.

Hazel was born on May 8, 1910, The daughter of Robert and may Watson, near Lovilia.

On Nov. 28, 1928, in Knoxville, she was married to Charles Frederick Spiker. Hazel worked for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and retired in 1985, after 44 years of Civil Service at the age of 75.

Hazel enjoyed her gardening, managing her properties, needlework, traveling and especially her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son , Ted C. Spiker; and one grandson, Mark Olmsted.

Survivors include her sister, Grace A. Pearson of Knoxville; two daughters, Dolores Monsees of Irving, Texas and Shirley Reedy of Sunriver, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one niece; and two great-nieces.
