Funeral services for Hazel Adel (Jury) McClurg, 81, of Hackensack, Minn., who died July
28, at her home, were held August 1, 1998, at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. The Rev. Bob Morris officiated at
the services. Music was provided by Darlene Mooberry, organist, and Jim Kidder,
vocalist. Pallbearers were Kenneth Beebout, Harvey Elliott, Royce Lenger, Bob Momyer,
Marion Reins, and Clyde Williams.
Hazel was born June 18, 1917, in Knoxville, the
daughter of Georgia M. Townsend and J. Weaver Jury. She graduated from Knoxville
High School in 1935. She later attended the American Institute of Business in Des
Moines.
She was united in marriage to William H. McClurg on October 20, 1940, in
Des Moines. The couple made their home in Des Moines, where she was a secretary
for Herman-Brown Equipment Company, and later worked for Merchants Freight Company.
She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Des Moines. The couple
retired in 1981, and they split their time between Venice, Florida, and Hackensack,
Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Wilbur Jury.
She is survived by her husband, of Venice, Fla.; and a daughter, Dr. Carol Field
of St. John's, Mich.
