Gretta Mae (Agan) Moffet, of Tucson, Ariz, died on Nov. 25, 2003.

She was born on Sept.
8, 1928 on a farm near Columbia to parents Rex and Audrey May Agan. She was preceded
in death by her son, Lloyd.

Gretta is survived by her husband, Marvin; son Russell;
brother, Floyd (Mary) of Camp Verde, Ariz.; brother, Fred (Sandy) of Harvey; sister,
Kae Stout (Richard) of Chariton plus many relatives and friends around the world.
Gretta attended school in Columbia and Knoxville.

She met Marvin, just back from
Seabees, in January 1946 and they married in December 1946. She worked as a hardware
clerk, secretary for the county attorney and secretary for the VA Hospital. They
moved to Greeley, Colo. in 1952 where she worked for the city water department.

Their son, Lloyd, was born in July 1956. Marvin was called to active duty with the
Air Force Reserves. Gretta was a stay at home mom and served with Marv in Alaska
from 1957-1960. Their son, Russell, was born in 1959. They came to Tucson in 1962
staying through 1968.

Both served in Tainan, Taiwan where she was active as a volunteer
in the chapel program and teacher of English at Tainan Seminary. They came back
to Tucson in 1970, always active with the United Methodist Church. Gretta was elected
four times to the General Conference United Methodist Church, traveled with the
study team United Methodist Women to China, India and co-led a study team to Liberia,
Sierra Leon, Nigeria and the Pacific Islands.

In 1974 Gretta was co-founder of Tucson
Metropolitan Ministries, a social service agency for the United Methodist Church,
now called TMM Family Services. She was an active board member for 24 years.

Gretta
survived colon cancer in January of 1995, only to become lost in the maze and tangles
of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease for the past seven years. The family is most
grateful to TC and Gilbert Fraijo at M&S Assisted Living and TMC Hospice, Lise and
Wylie.
