Gladys Marie (Fee) Amsberry, 79, passed away in her home In Urbandale, IA on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, of natural causes.
She was born on February 19, 1939, in Knoxville, IA to Wilbur & Opal Fee, she has a surviving brother Raymond Fee of Omaha Nebraska. In 1959 she married her long-time sweetheart Norman Dean Amsberry.
Together they had three children, Kevin Amsberry (Brenda), Steve Amsberry, and Becky McCabe. Norman and Gladys were blessed with six grandchildren, Rick, Tawnee, Nicole, Kelsey, Blake, and Alexis, and one great-grandson, Reilly, plus, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur & Opal Fee and her brother John Fee.
Gladys graduated from Knoxville High School in 1957. Afterward, she attended Graceland College and graduated with a Secretarial Degree. Gladys was given many awards and recognition for her distinguished service.
She loved working with her church and loved working with the children. She loved volunteering her time to help others. She is a great person, a great mother, and a loving wife. She will be missed by all.
The Amsberry Family will greet friends at the Iles Westover Chapel on Friday, March 9, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Community of Christ Church, 4504 Ashworth, West Des Moines, IA. A luncheon will be served after the service. Burial will be at the Marysville Cemetery in Marysville, IA
