Services for Geraldine Irene (James) Murphy, 82, of Pella and formerly of Knoxville, who passed away on April 15, 1991, at the Pella Community Hospital, were held on April 18 at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery. Rev. Ray Moore officiated at the services. Music was provided by Merrill Womach. Pallbearers were Wayne Vandenberg, Larry Vandusseldorp,
Jerry Ford, Dwight Vandusseldorp, Greg Vandenberg, and Don Rodgers.

Jerry was born on Dec. 9, 1908, in Dallas, the daughter of Otis and Mary Scott James.
She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1926.

She married Clarke M. Murphy in July of 1957 in Las Vegas, Nev. They moved back to Knoxville in 1961. Jerry was past president of the Knoxville Women’s Club and
a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. They have resided in Pella since 1985.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one step-son.

She is survived by her husband of Pella, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Jeanne) Vandenberg of Pella; one step-daughter, Barbara Bailey of Prescott, Ariz.; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials have been established for the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville.
