Services for Georgia Ruth Long, 80, of Knoxville, who died May 17, 1988 at Knoxville Area community Hospital, were held May 20 at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
The Rev. K. Wayne Hoehns officiated at the services. Music was provided by Martha Prichard, organist.

Pallbearers were Jim and Steve Long, Richard Randol, Hugh Whitlatch, Don Hunerdosse, and Bob Spaur.
Mrs. Long was born on Aug. 6, 1907 in Marion County, the daughter of Stanley and Minnie Bingaman Applegate.

She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1925 and attended Simpson College and Drake University.

On Aug. 25, 1935, She married Glenn Long.
Retiring from teaching in 1974, she had taught in the communities of Pershing, Attica and Huxley.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Retired Teacher's Association, and several other educational groups.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1956, one son, Gary in 1979, and one daughter, Linda in infancy.

She is survived by one grandson, Jason, one daughter-in-law, Diana; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials have been established to the Radio Ministry of the First United Methodist Church and to Marion County Hospice.
