Genevieve Annetta (Fowler) Schlicher, 98, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

She was born July 30, 1913, in Mt. Sterling, Iowa, the daughter of William J. and Myrtle (Walker) Fowler. She married Raymond Schlicher on May 22, 1938, in Iowa City. He died on December 18, 1990.

Mrs. Schlicher graduated from Knoxville High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1937 with a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (accounting). She was a homemaker and worked part-time at the Registrar's Office at the University of Northern Iowa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls.

Survived by: a son, Dr. John (Karol) of Phoenix and Wichita; two daughters, Jenifer Breyer of Syracuse, NY, and Mary Schlicher of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren: Katherine (Kenneth) Harkin, Anne (Gary) Gin, Sarah Schlicher, Raymond " Andy" Breyer and Luis Breyer; and five great-grandchildren: Daniel and Jillian Harkin, Grace and Tessa Gin and Aiden Quinn Breyer.

Preceded in death by 1 brother, William; and three sisters, Wilma Benz, Frances Mayberry, and Marian McGinnis.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls, through the auspices of First United Methodist Church. Interment took place in Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls, on March 23, 2012. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls, and also for one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the UNI Foundation-Raymond and Genevieve Schlicher Scholarship or Cedar Falls First United Methodist Church.
