Gloria Gaye (Slocum) Goff was born August 25, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence William Slocum & Ruth Z. (Woods) Slocum.

She graduated from Knoxville High School in the class of 1959. Gloria began working in the kitchen at the VA in 1973 and continued until her retirement in 1988.

She was united in marriage to Marion H. Goff on March 12, 1983. Gloria was a member of the Pleasantville Independent Baptist Church and enjoyed attending church and participating in church activities.

She also loved canning food, country living, and sitting on the porch swing with her husband.

She passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the Comfort House in
Pella at the age of 69 years, 7 months, and 27 days.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, son, Bryan Scott Goff, grandsons, Christopher Comer, Arlo Goff sister, Elenor Brower, brothers, Franky, Lonnie & Johnny Parker.

Survivors include her husband, Marion H. Goff of Knoxville; children, Kenneth Goering and James (Rose) Goering of Las Vegas, NV, and Judy (Carl)Lenger, Mike (Sherry) Goff, Reuben Comer Gary (Wendy) Comer all of Knoxville, Mark (Lora) Goff of Chariton, Lisa (Mark) Olson of Dickie, ND; 33 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (David) Kingery of Monroe.

Bybee & Davis Funeral Home made the arrangements with interment at Lincoln Cemetery.
