Freeda L. (Harvey) West was born on February 28, 1920, in rural Marion County. She was the daughter of Bertha Edith Woody and Charles Schinick Harvey. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1937.
Freeda L. (Harvey) West, 96, of Harvey, IA, passed away Tuesday evening at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella, IA.
Freeda, the wife of the late Wallace L. West, is survived by three daughters: Janet L. and her husband, Wayne Westberg of Harvey, Mary Ann and her husband, Ron Sterling of Pella, Beth West of Harvey; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Aimee (Lawrence) Breuklander of St. Louis, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Eugene, Dwight, and Clifford Harvey; and brother-in-law, James N. Mart.
Funeral services will be held Sat, May 28, 2016, at 10:30 a.m.
Williams Funeral Home, Knoxville, Iowa
Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery in Marion County, Iowa
Visitation will begin Friday afternoon at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville where the family will be present Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested for either the Clay Township Fire & Rescue Unit or Hospice of Central Iowa.
