Fredene Frances (Kingery) Ravera was born July 7, 1928, in Dunreath, Iowa. She was the daughter of Mabel Alice Dietrick and Fred Raymond Kingery.

Fredene was united in marriage to Armond “Corky” Ravera on November 4, 1950.

After graduating from Knoxville High School, Fredene worked at the Knoxville Newspaper. Later she worked for IowaElectric Light and Power for 34 years before retiring in July 1984.

Fredene loved working in her yard and flowers. Roses were her specialty. She also loved people and being around them. Fredene was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Naomi Circle, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Knoxville Area Community Hospital Auxiliary.

Fredene was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald Kingery, and sister Marcelline Nichols.

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband of 57 years, Armond, “Corky” Ravera of Knoxville; two sisters, Colleen Haug of Knoxville and Esther Breen of Pleasant Hill; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Kingery of Newton and Lucille Conrad of Melcher as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Neil Montz officiating.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery. Musical selections were “Because He Lives” and “The King Is Coming”. Janet Westberg was the vocalist. Jim Kidder was the organist.

Casket bearers were Todd Breen, Jeff Danner, Bard Giltner, Jeff Morse, Kip Dolder, and Rick Rankin.
Honorary casket bearers were Robert Ray Nichols, Joe Nugent, and Kevin Cook.
